This term the nurseries will be covering the season spring they will be visiting the Botanic Gardens, bird watching and hopefully enjoying the changes in Spring and developing our outdoor learning area’s with the staff. Each room will continue with their own topic of choice in addition to this. Your room seniors will provide you with more information on any outings planned over the next week ahead.

The parent committee will be holding a spring fair for all our parents and children in the Dalmeny Church Hall between 12-4. We shall be having lots of fun with a Tumbola, Bake Sale, 2nd Hand Toy/Book Sale, Treasure Hunt, Face Painting and much more. We shall also be joined by Usborne Books, Caterpillar Music plus many more.. Please pop the date in your diary!!

If you have any prizes for raffle/tombola or any old toys and books you would like to donate please hand them into the offices before the event. We would also welcome any baking donations too!

A reminder that due to a change in regulations the nursery cannot administer any medicine that has not been signed in by a parent in the morning. The nursery can no longer accept permission to administer Calpol over the telephone, in the event that your child falls ill unexpectedly you will be contacted to collect them.

Prescribed medicine can be given provided the child has had their first dose at least an hour before attending nursery.

We shall be commencing our spring planting in April in both nurseries. If any parent can spare an hour or two to help with planting can you please let us know and we will put your free time to good use!

After 8 years of service to Nippers Gayle Smith has decided for family reasons to leave Nippers. We would like to thank Gayle for her contribution over the years and wish her well, she will be missed by us all. Gayle’s role will be taken over by Ashley Fleming who is currently our Senior Supervisor in the Toddler Room.

We would like to congratulation Lauren Houston on her promotion to Room Senior in our Toddler Room.

We are also loosing 2 members of staff in Kirkliston Shannon Irvine and Lynzay Wright who are both moving onto new careers.

I would like to welcome the following members of staff:

Wendy Mart who joins us as Room Supervisor in our Preschool Room in Kirkliston
Jessica Williams who joins us as Practitioner in Kirkliston
Frankie McAllistair who joins us as a Modern Apprentice in Kirkliston
Jade Roberts is coming back to join Nippers in Dalmeny in our Preschool Room.

I have detailed below the new room staff for your information. We have made changes necessary for the business, mix of experience and working hours.

A big thank you to all Staff who gave up their Saturday last week to come and in to update their First Aid Pediatric Training.

Also huge congratulations to Andrea Heigh who has completed her apprenticeship with Nippers and is now a fully qualified Nursery Practitioner. Her hard work and dedication has paid off as she also completed this in record time.
